Bars, rooftops and pubs in Cannes: one drink before midnight

Three rooftops, two palace bars, two pubs, Le Suquet and Port Canto. Where to have an aperitif and start the evening, with hours and prices recorded in 2026.

A town that drinks early

Cannes drinks early. The aperitif starts around 5 or 6pm, most hotel bars stop serving at midnight, and only the pubs and a few addresses hold on until 2am. In between there are three families: the rooftops, the palace hotel bars, and the pubs and neighbourhood bars.

Our line: one expensive drink, well placed, then come back down. A rooftop facing the Old Port at sunset, then a pub or Le Suquet. Spending the whole evening on a palace terrace means paying three times for the same view.

We have not tested any of these addresses. The hours and prices below come from official websites, Cannes tourist office listings and figures recorded in 2025 and 2026. Bars change fast: a call before you cross town remains the best method.

Seven stops, from rooftop to counter

N° 01
Rooftop

Marea, on the 7th floor of Canopy by Hilton

2 boulevard Jean Hibert, facing the Old Port. A terrace of about 400 m², some thirty metres up, with the bay, the Lérins Islands and the Estérel in view. It opens in the evening only. Published hours vary by source: 5pm to 11pm daily in an article from August 2025, 6pm to midnight when the hotel opened. To be confirmed, as is the off-season opening, listed as year-round. Cocktails around 20 € (recorded 2026), booking recommended. This is the former Radisson Blu rooftop: guides that still talk about the 360 are out of date.

N° 02
Rooftop

Le Roof, Five Seas

1 rue Notre-Dame, in the town centre. The rooftop bar of this five-star hotel brings together a lounge, a pergola terrace and an infinity pool. The pool is reserved for hotel residents, the bar welcomes visitors. Cocktails between 18 and 22 € (recorded 2026). The view takes in Le Suquet and the Old Port. Hours are not reliably published: ask the hotel.

N° 03
Summer rooftops

Panorama Rooftop (JW Marriott) and the Belle Plage roof

The Panorama Rooftop, 50 boulevard de la Croisette, reopened for the 2026 season according to the Palais des Festivals. It is a summer-only roof, with a view from the Lérins Islands to the Estérel, a smart dress code and cocktails between 24 and 30 €. On the Suquet side, the roof of the Hôtel Belle Plage, 2 rue Brougham, combines a cocktail bar and a restaurant facing the bay, cocktails around 23 €. In both cases, check opening dates before going in October.

N° 04
Palace bar

Bar°58, Carlton

58 boulevard de la Croisette. Open daily in 2026: drinks from 5pm to midnight, finger food from 5pm to 10pm. The list follows the seasons, on a principle the hotel sums up as from farm to bar. Smart casual dress. No published prices: expect Croisette palace rates. It is the address for one drink, not for the evening.

N° 05
Palace bar

Martinez Bar

73 boulevard de la Croisette. The Martinez bar was redesigned in March 2025 in a 1930s spirit: signature cocktails, vinyl records, DJ sets. The official website gives opening from Tuesday to Saturday, 6pm to 2am. It is the latest of the palace bars, and it is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

N° 06
Pubs

Morrison's and The Quay's

Morrison's, 10 rue Teisseire, is an Irish pub in place since 1997. Live music on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays all year, happy hour from 5pm to 8pm, English football and rugby on screen, open daily in 2026 (tourist office listing, January 2026). The Quay's, 17 quai Saint-Pierre, has held the Old Port since 2000: terrace, televised sport, live music. Its hours differ by source (1pm to 2.30am for the tourist office in 2023, earlier closing elsewhere): call +33 4 93 39 27 84.

N° 07
Le Suquet and Port Canto

Charly's and Harry's Bar

Charly's, rue du Suquet, spreads across both sides of the lane: one space turned towards wine and champagne, another that stays lively until late. The tourist office listing (July 2025) gives daily opening from 5pm to 2.30am, to be confirmed. At the other end of La Croisette, Harry's Bar, Port Pierre Canto, is listed as open from noon to 2am, and from 5pm to 1am on Sundays (listing updated in June 2026).

What we'd skip

The 25 € cocktail picked at random on La Croisette. At that price you may as well choose: a palace bar for the service, a rooftop for the view. The ordinary boulevard terrace charges the same amount and gives you neither.

Going up to a summer rooftop in October without checking. The Panorama Rooftop is a summer venue, and the upper terrace at Bâoli only opens from June to the end of August. Only Marea is listed as year-round, and even then in the evening only.

Trusting old guides. The 360 no longer exists under that name. The Ma Nolan's pub, rue Buttura, was flagged as temporarily closed by the tourist office in June 2025 and we found no confirmed reopening: we do not recommend it until that is clear.

When to go

Set your watch by the sunset. The rooftops on the Old Port side look west towards the Estérel. Arrive 45 minutes before: around 9pm in June, around 7pm in early October, around 5pm in December. Pub happy hours (5pm to 8pm at Morrison's) fall at the same time, which settles the budget question.

Avoid the Festival fortnight in mid-May and the big trade shows if you want a table without waiting: palace bars are packed and sometimes privately hired. On Sundays and Mondays the Martinez Bar is closed. For the rest of the evening, see Cannes in the evening, and for after midnight, the nightclubs.

Going out in Cannes, common questions

What does a drink cost in Cannes?

On hotel rooftops, cocktails recorded in 2026 run from 18 to 30 €: about 20 € at Marea, 18 to 22 € at Le Roof at Five Seas, 24 to 30 € at the Panorama Rooftop. Pubs are markedly cheaper, especially during the 5pm to 8pm happy hour.

Do you need to book a rooftop in Cannes?

Yes in summer and at weekends. Booking is recommended at Marea, and summer roofs such as the Panorama Rooftop have limited capacity around sunset.

Is there a dress code in the bars?

Bar°58 at the Carlton asks for smart casual dress, the Panorama Rooftop for smart dress. In the pubs there is no rule. Everywhere, avoid beachwear after 6pm.

Where can you watch a match in Cannes?

In the two Irish pubs: Morrison's, 10 rue Teisseire, shows English football and rugby, and The Quay's, 17 quai Saint-Pierre, also shows sport on the Old Port.

Which bars stay open late?

The Martinez Bar until 2am from Tuesday to Saturday, Harry's Bar until 2am, Charly's listed until 2.30am. Hotel bars such as Bar°58 stop at midnight. Beyond that, you move on to the clubs.
