Romantic restaurants in Cannes: Le Suquet before La Croisette.

One starred table, two addresses on rue Saint-Antoine, a rooftop over the Old Port, an island and two bistros at 30 to 70 euros: seven verified tables for dinner for two, with prices and opening days announced for 2026.

At night, the sea is black

A romantic restaurant in Cannes is not necessarily a table facing the sea. At night the sea is black: what you actually look at are the lights of the Old Port, the façades of Le Suquet and the person opposite. The terraces on the boulevard sell a view that disappears at sunset.

Our position: for dinner for two, climb to Le Suquet or gain some height, rather than lining up on La Croisette. Rue Saint-Antoine brings together two addresses in this register, a few doors apart, and a rooftop in the centre looks over the whole old town. La Croisette keeps one exception, a starred one, to be saved for an occasion.

We have not dined at any of these addresses. This is a sourced selection, not a review: each one was checked against the Cannes tourist office listings, the Michelin Guide or its own website (address, cuisine, opening days and prices announced for 2026). The Google ratings quoted were recorded in October 2026. None paid to be here.

Our notebook for dinner for two

N° 01
The big occasion

La Palme d'Or, at the Hôtel Martinez

At 73 boulevard de la Croisette, inside the Hôtel Martinez. It is the starred table of La Croisette, led by chef Jean Imbert since it reopened in 2024. The Michelin Guide files it under modern cuisine, turned towards the sea and Provence, in a setting devoted to cinema where the menu reads like a screenplay. Dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday from 7.30 pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Menus announced at between 160 and 240 euros per person for 2026, drinks not included. The number of stars is revised every year: our Michelin and Bib page keeps track. Book weeks ahead.

N° 02
Le Suquet · gastronomic

Table 22 par Noël Mantel, rue Saint-Antoine

At 22 rue Saint-Antoine, the street that climbs to Le Suquet. Noël and Brenda Mantel run a gastronomic table of Mediterranean inspiration there, listed by the Michelin Guide under traditional, locavore cuisine, and in place for over twenty years according to the guide. Dinner only, from 6.30 pm. A three-course dinner starts at 90 euros per person (2026 price from the tourist office). Google rating recorded: 4.4 over roughly 450 reviews. Mind the calendar: open every day from 9 March to 31 October 2026, closed Sunday and Monday for the rest of the year.

N° 03
Le Suquet · wood fire

Le Maschou, the fireplace on rue Saint-Antoine

At 15 rue Saint-Antoine, a few doors away. The tourist office sums the address up in one sentence: the restaurant has made its fireplace its main working tool. Meat and fish are grilled over a wood fire, with fresh produce and dishes made in-house. Open in the evening from Wednesday to Sunday from 7 pm, closed Monday and Tuesday. Prices are not published on the official listing and we did not record a reliable Google rating: ask about the current set menu when you book. It is the choice when you want a small room and a fire rather than a panorama.

N° 04
View over Le Suquet

Le Roof, on the 5th floor of the Five Seas

At 1 rue Notre-Dame, on the roof of the Five Seas hotel. The announced view takes in Le Suquet and the Old Port, in other words what lights up in the evening. The official listing describes reworked French bistronomy, with local produce. Dinner from 7 pm to 10 pm, bar until 12.30 am, open every day in 2026. Google rating recorded: 4.3 over roughly 390 reviews; Gault&Millau gives it 11.5 out of 20. Prices are not published on the listing. The restaurant closed from 7 December 2025 to 21 January 2026: in winter, check that it is open.

N° 05
On an island · in season

La Guérite, Île Sainte-Marguerite

On Île Sainte-Marguerite, reachable only by boat. A Mediterranean restaurant with a private beach, with sharing dishes cooked in the oven, over embers and on the barbecue according to its listing. The 2026 season is announced from 7 May to 11 October, with an à la carte meal estimated at between 50 and 100 euros per person, drinks not included. An important point: it is above all a lunch address, open every day during the daytime. Dinners are mentioned on Saturdays in July and August, to be confirmed directly, as is the boat shuttle. For the island itself, see our page on the Lérins Islands.

N° 06
For two, 30 to 70 euros

UVA and Le Pompon: the version without a palace

Dinner for two does not require a three-figure menu. Two tables we have already written up stand out in the public rankings in this register: UVA, 13 boulevard de la République, Mediterranean and a wine bar, open in the evening (4.7 over roughly 860 Google reviews), and Le Pompon, 4 rue Emile Négrin, a bistro and tapas bar (4.8 over roughly 880 reviews). No view and no white tablecloth: small rooms, a wine list, and ratings held over a large volume of reviews. Booking is essential at the weekend.

What we avoid

What we avoid: choosing at random on the way up rue Saint-Antoine. The street is lined with terraces, and they are not all equal. Dinner for two is booked by name, a few days ahead, not on the strength of a chalkboard read while walking.

What we also avoid: paying for a sea view for a dinner after dark. After sunset, a table on the boulevard mostly looks at the traffic. If the view matters, aim for a rooftop turned towards Le Suquet and the port, or book early enough to watch the light fall. If it does not, a street set back does better for less.

Finally, we do not book the starred table for the evening we arrive. A menu at 160 euros and more should be eaten rested. Keep it for the second or third evening, and keep the first one simple.

When to go

The hour matters as much as the address. In late June the sun sets at around 9 pm: book for 8 pm to have the light during the starter. In winter it is dark before the kitchens open, and the fireplace takes over. Watch the closures: La Palme d'Or closes on Sunday and Monday, Le Maschou on Monday and Tuesday, Table 22 on Sunday and Monday from November to early March, La Guérite from October to May.

Three dates are booked weeks ahead: Valentine's Day, the fortnight of the Festival in May, and Saturdays in July and August. For the rest of the year a few days are enough for most of these tables, La Palme d'Or excepted. To extend the evening, see Cannes in the evening and our ideas for couples.

Romantic restaurants in Cannes, common questions

Which romantic restaurant should you choose in Cannes?

It depends on the budget. For a big occasion: La Palme d'Or, at the Hôtel Martinez, a starred table with menus announced at between 160 and 240 euros for 2026. For a gastronomic dinner in Le Suquet: Table 22 par Noël Mantel, from 90 euros for three courses. For an intimate room around a fireplace: Le Maschou. For 30 to 70 euros per person: UVA or Le Pompon. We have not dined there: these are sourced picks.

Where can you have a romantic dinner with a view in Cannes?

Le Roof, on the 5th floor of the Five Seas hotel (1 rue Notre-Dame), announces a view over Le Suquet and the Old Port, with dinner from 7 pm to 10 pm. In season, La Guérite on Île Sainte-Marguerite offers the most out-of-the-way setting, but mainly at lunch. For the beach restaurants, see our sea view page.

How much does a romantic dinner cost in Cannes?

From 30 to 70 euros per person at a neighbourhood table such as UVA or Le Pompon, from 90 euros for three courses at Table 22, between 50 and 100 euros excluding drinks at La Guérite, and from 160 to 240 euros for the menus at La Palme d'Or (prices announced for 2026, drinks not included). Prices at Le Maschou and Le Roof are not published on their official listings.

Do you need to book for dinner for two in Cannes?

Yes. The rooms in Le Suquet are small and La Palme d'Or serves only five evenings a week. Allow several weeks for Valentine's Day, the Festival in May and summer Saturdays, and a few days for the rest of the year.

Which romantic restaurants are open on Sunday evening in Cannes?

According to the listings consulted for 2026: Le Maschou (Wednesday to Sunday), Le Roof (every day) and Table 22 (every day from 9 March to 31 October only). La Palme d'Or is closed on Sunday and Monday. Sunday evening remains the hardest slot of the week in Cannes: check before you go out.
