A matter for neighbourhood cafés
Breakfast in Cannes swings between two extremes: the hotel buffet charged by default, and the coffee and croissant taken standing at the counter. Between the two, a handful of daytime cafés, almost all clustered around rue Hoche and rue Emile Négrin, serve eggs, toast and pancakes until late afternoon.
Our view: in Cannes, brunch belongs to the neighbourhood cafés, not to the palace hotels. The addresses in the centre announce brunch plates at 12 to 20 euros, open from 8.30 or 9 am and do not make you wait for Sunday. Palace brunch exists, it is worth doing once, for the setting, and it costs several times that price.
We have not eaten at any of these addresses. This is a sourced selection: each one was checked against the Cannes tourist office listings (address, brunch offer, opening hours announced for 2026). Google ratings are quoted only where we were able to record them, in October 2026.

N° 01
Daytime café · from 8.30 am
Peanut's Café, rue Emile Négrin
At 6 rue Emile Négrin, two doors from Le Pompon. The tourist office listing describes it as a modern café with healthy, seasonal cooking: brunches, vegetarian and vegan plates, gluten-free options, matcha, lattes and fresh juices. Announced brackets: 12 to 20 euros for a brunch dish, 4 to 8 euros for a coffee or a latte. Hours announced from 1 April to 31 December 2026: Monday to Saturday from 8.30 am to 6 pm, Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. It is the earliest opener on this list.
N° 02
Brunch · rue Hoche
Maison Charlotte Busset
At 26 rue Hoche. A bakery-café known for its cookies (organic, with vegan, gluten-free or sugar-free versions according to the official listing) and for its brunch. The composition announced by the tourist office: bread with butter and jam, a croissant, avocado toast, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs or an omelette, French cheeses, a hot drink and freshly squeezed orange juice. The price of the set brunch is not published on the listing: ask. Hours announced all year: 9.30 am to 6.30 pm on weekdays, 9 am to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
N° 03
Coffee shop · rue Hoche
Emilie and the Cool Kids
At 39 rue Hoche, a few doors further on. The official listing presents it as a small chain of cafés serving American pastries and bagels, with a terrace, and lists brunch among its services. Announced hours: Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm, Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm. Two honest caveats: the listing has not been updated since 2024, and the brunch price does not appear on it. Check both on the spot or by phone.
N° 04
All-day brunch
Café Crème Brunch Club, at the Canopy by Hilton
At 2 boulevard Jean Hibert, on the ground floor of the Canopy by Hilton hotel, west of the Old Port, with a direct entrance from the street. The tourist office describes it as an all-day brunch club: sweet and savoury Californian-style dishes, coffee from a local roaster, shared work tables. Announced hours: every day from 8 am to 5 pm, all year, with continuous service. Prices are not published on the listing. It is the answer when you want brunch on a Tuesday at 2 pm.
N° 05
Palace hotel · Sunday
The Carlton: breakfast and brunch at the Riviera Restaurant
At 58 boulevard de la Croisette. The Riviera Restaurant at the Carlton announces a Sunday brunch and stays open every day in 2026 according to its official listing. The brunch price is not published there; the set brunches recorded by the regional tourist board in 2024 were at 125 euros and more per person, drinks not included. The palace breakfast, a finalist in a national best breakfast and brunch competition in November 2025, was announced at the time at 59 euros and open to non-residents, especially in low season. Google rating recorded for the restaurant: 4.4 over roughly 200 reviews. Confirm with the hotel before you set out.
N° 06
View · Sunday
Le Roof at the Five Seas and Tredici: two Sunday brunches
Le Roof, on the 5th floor of the Five Seas hotel, 1 rue Notre-Dame, announces brunch every Sunday from noon, with a view over Le Suquet and the Old Port: organic eggs cooked to order, avocado toast, brioche French toast, crêpes and pancakes according to its listing. Google rating recorded: 4.3 over roughly 390 reviews. Tredici, in Le Suquet (11 to 15 rue Louis Perrissol), open from 10 am, also mentions a Sunday brunch, with no hours or price published (4.5 over roughly 1,800 reviews). In both cases, book and ask the price.

No booking needed
The Forville market, the breakfast nobody counts
It is not a restaurant, and yet it is the breakfast we recommend first. The covered Forville market opens Tuesday to Sunday from 7 am to 1 pm, and every day in July and August. A pastry, some fruit, a coffee taken next door: a few euros, and the town at the moment it wakes up. The addresses that cook from the market are on our market tables page.
What we avoid
What we avoid: paying for the hotel breakfast by reflex. It is often charged as an extra, while rue Hoche and rue Emile Négrin are a few minutes away on foot. Look at the price per person before you tick the box: a daytime café with a brunch plate at 12 to 20 euros often does better for less.
What we also avoid: turning up at 11.30 am on a Sunday without a booking. These cafés have small rooms, and Sunday is the one day when the whole town wants brunch at the same time. Either come at opening, or book, or choose a weekday, when the same plate is eaten without a wait.
Finally, we do not confuse Sunday brunch with brunch all week. The Carlton, Le Roof and Tredici announce their brunch on Sunday only. If you are in Cannes from Monday to Friday, the daytime cafés are the ones to aim for.
When to go
On a weekday, early. Before 10 am these addresses are quiet and the light is good on the streets of the centre. Sunday is the busiest day. In July and August, come at opening: by noon the heat and the queue add up.
In May, during the Festival, the cafés in the centre fill up early, festival-goers included. Out of season, from November to March, it is the reverse: easy tables, and the Carlton breakfast becomes most accessible to non-residents. Some addresses announce seasonal hours: check before you cross town. For the rest of the day, see what a meal really costs in Cannes.
