Three casinos, and a map that has changed
Cannes has three casinos open in autumn 2026, all on La Croisette or at its far end: Casino Barrière Le Croisette, inside the Palais des Festivals building, Casino Partouche Cannes 50 Croisette, at the foot of the JW Marriott, and Casino Royal Palm, at the Palm Beach on the Pointe Croisette. Two groups share the town: Barrière to the west, Partouche in the centre and to the east.
The map has shifted a lot in two years, which is why so many guides are wrong. The Partouche casino on rue François Einesy, known as the 3.14, was moved to the Palm Beach in December 2024, and its building was sold in 2025. The former Casino Les Princes, at 50 boulevard de la Croisette, now trades under the Partouche name after the group bought 80% of its capital, announced in March 2025. If a page sends you to the 3.14 or to Les Princes, it is out of date.
Our view: a casino in Cannes is an evening with a budget set before you walk in, not a sight. None of the three has the decor of a Belle Époque palace. You go to play for an hour, to have a late drink, or to see the Palm Beach from the inside. What follows tells you which one to pick, and what you need in your pocket to get through the door.
The three casinos, then the rules
N° 01
Palais des Festivals
Address: 1 espace Lucien Barrière, in the wing of the Palais des Festivals on the Old Port side. The tourist office listing, updated in December 2025, gives more than 200 slot machines, 75 electronic gaming positions and 12 traditional tables (English roulette, blackjack, poker), open every day from 10am to 3am, or 4am depending on the period. This is the one we would suggest for a first visit: it opens in the morning, it is five minutes on foot from the ferry terminal and Le Suquet, and it has the widest choice of machines in town. Table hours differ from slot hours and the sources contradict each other: check the casino's website before coming for roulette.
N° 02
50 boulevard de la Croisette
It occupies the ground floor of the JW Marriott complex, halfway along La Croisette. The casino's official website, checked in October 2026, lists opening Monday to Sunday from 10am to 3am, 117 slot machines, 48 electronic roulette positions and 17 tables: 7 English roulette, 7 blackjack, 2 Ultimate Poker and 1 Punto Banco. On paper, it is the room with the most traditional tables. Entry is free on presentation of ID or the group's loyalty card, and the site states that appropriate dress is required. There is also a restaurant and a bar.
N° 03
Pointe Croisette
The Palm Beach, on place Franklin-Roosevelt, reopened after several years of works, and the Partouche group moved a casino back in at the start of December 2024. The Royal Palm website, checked in October 2026, gives opening 7 days a week from 7pm to 3am, with blackjack, Ultimate Poker, roulette, Punto Banco and slot machines, a restaurant and a bar. So it is an evening casino, not an afternoon one, and the only one of the three whose site explicitly asks for elegant dress. You choose it for the place as much as for the gaming. It sits at the other end of La Croisette: allow about thirty minutes on foot from the Palais.
N° 04
At the door
Entry conditions: 18 or over, photo ID, nothing to pay
Entry to all three casinos is free. It is, however, checked every time. The French rule is simple: you must be an adult, and a minor cannot enter a casino, even with a parent and even without playing. You need to show valid official ID: an identity card or a passport (a French driving licence is also accepted). Casinos generally refuse photocopies and photos on a phone: bring the original. Anyone on the French gaming exclusion register is turned away at the door. The practical consequence: you cannot drop into the casino on the way back from the beach if your passport is still at the hotel.
N° 05
Dress
What to wear, and what gets you refused
None of the three Cannes casinos requires a dinner jacket, or even a jacket. The official wording is: appropriate dress required at 50 Croisette, elegant dress at the Royal Palm. We found no written rule for Barrière Le Croisette: treat smart casual as the norm. In practice, in French casinos, the problem is beachwear: swimsuits, flip-flops, vests, sportswear. Trousers, closed shoes and a shirt or a decent top are enough everywhere, including at the tables. The final call belongs to the door staff, and it is stricter in the evening than during the day.
N° 06
Games
Slots, roulette, blackjack, poker: who offers what
Slot machines take up most of the floor and accept small stakes: this is where most visitors start. Electronic games (roulette and blackjack on terminals) let you play table games without a dealer, at lower stakes. Traditional tables exist in all three venues: English roulette and blackjack everywhere, Ultimate Poker and Punto Banco at the Partouche casinos, poker at the Barrière. Table minimums are not reliably published: ask at the cash desk before you sit down. Our advice is the same everywhere: decide the amount before you go in, and leave when it has been played.
What we'd skip
What we'd skip: following an outdated address. The 3.14, on rue François Einesy, has not been a casino since the December 2024 transfer, and the casino at 50 Croisette is no longer called Les Princes. Many online directories still show the old names, the old hours, and sometimes a machine count from before the works.
We would also skip coming for the architecture. The postcard casino, with gilded salons and chandeliers, is in Monte-Carlo, not here. The Barrière is housed in a 1980s convention centre, 50 Croisette in a modern hotel complex. Only the Palm Beach has a building with a history, and you see it better from outside, from the point.
Finally, we do not treat the casino as a way to pay for the evening. Gambling carries a risk of loss and addiction. In France, Joueurs Info Service answers on 09 74 75 13 13 (standard rate), and any player can ask to be excluded from gaming through the Autorité nationale des jeux.
When to go
Daytime or evening. Barrière Le Croisette and 50 Croisette open at 10am: useful on a rainy day, or for a look at the machines without the crowd. The tables come alive mostly after dinner. The Royal Palm only opens at 7pm: it pairs with dinner on the Pointe Croisette, not with an afternoon.
By season. Several listings mention later closing in summer, up to 4am or 5am depending on the venue: to be confirmed on the official websites, which are the reference. During the Film Festival in May, and during the big trade shows, the area around the Palais is controlled and the crowd changes: the Barrière remains a public casino, but check access on the day.
Casinos in Cannes, common questions
How many casinos are there in Cannes in 2026?
Three, according to our checks in October 2026: Casino Barrière Le Croisette (Palais des Festivals), Casino Partouche Cannes 50 Croisette (the former Casino Les Princes, at the foot of the JW Marriott) and Casino Royal Palm (Partouche, at the Palm Beach). The 3.14 casino on rue François Einesy was transferred to the Palm Beach in December 2024.
Do you have to pay to enter a casino in Cannes?
No, entry is free at all three. It depends on an identity check: you must be an adult and show valid official ID, in the original.
What is the dress code for the casinos in Cannes?
Smart casual is enough: trousers, closed shoes, a decent top. 50 Croisette asks for appropriate dress, the Royal Palm for elegant dress. Beachwear (swimsuits, flip-flops, vests) and sportswear are the usual reasons for refusal. Neither jacket nor tie is required.
Can a minor go in with their parents?
No. In France, access to gaming rooms is forbidden to under-18s, including when accompanied and including when they do not play. Age is checked at the door every time.
Which casino should you choose if you only go once?
Barrière Le Croisette for convenience: central, open from 10am, the largest number of machines. 50 Croisette for traditional tables, the most numerous according to the published figures. The Royal Palm for a dressed-up evening and for the Palm Beach itself.
