Family hotels in Cannes: the room first, the pool second.

Connecting rooms, suites for four, a pool, the walk to the sand: five Cannes hotels measured against what their official websites actually state, and what to have confirmed before you book.

Compare floor plans before you compare prices

Cannes is not a town of resort hotels. Most addresses in the centre are designed for two adults, and the word 'family' on a hotel website covers very different things: a real two-room suite, two rooms joined by a door, or just an extra bed in a double. Before comparing prices, compare floor plans.

Our view is firm: with children, choose the room layout first, the walking distance to the sand second, and the pool only third. The sea is a few hundred metres from every hotel listed here, and the public sandy beaches are free. A hotel pool that is closed out of season, or charged extra, replaces neither.

A note on method. We have not slept in any of these hotels. This is a sourced selection: addresses, categories, room types and pools were taken from the official websites in October 2026. Where a website leaves a point open (connecting rooms, pool heating), we flag it rather than assume.

Five hotels for a family, criterion by criterion

N° 01
4-star · 30 m² suites

Novotel Suites Cannes Centre, floor space first

46 bis boulevard Carnot, the avenue that climbs north from the centre. Here there are only suites: 30 m² for most, 35 m² for the Executive Suite, listed for two to four people, with a microwave, minibar and coffee machine. For a family of four it is the simplest set-up to book: one key, no connecting door to negotiate. The hotel's page puts the beach and the Croisette at 500 m. It does not mention a pool, and gives two different figures for the station (500 m, or ten minutes on foot): allow the longer one. Official website.

N° 02
4-star · family suites

Hôtel Splendid, connecting rooms facing the port

4 rue Félix Faure, facing the Palais des Festivals and the port. Forty-nine rooms in a building the hotel dates to 1871, including two explicitly family options: a suite made up of communicating rooms, and a suite laid out in an attic apartment. Several rooms look over the sea, the bay and the Lérins Islands. No pool is advertised. The data published by the website shows a range of €88 to €280 (noted October 2026, to be confirmed by date and category). Pets are accepted with a €100 deposit. Official website.

N° 03
4-star · two pools

Eden Hôtel & Spa, the pool that does not depend on the weather

133 rue d'Antibes, about 200 metres from the sea and the Croisette according to the hotel. A hundred and seventeen rooms and, above all, two pools: a heated indoor pool of 13 metres by 3, included in the room price along with the hammam and sauna, and a rooftop pool with solarium and jacuzzi, open in season and charged extra. It is the right choice for a spring or autumn half-term stay, when the sea is cool. The website does not detail family or connecting rooms, nor any rules on children's access to the spa: ask in writing. Parking is €20 a night, by reservation. Official website.

N° 04
5-star · kids club

Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic, the palace organised for children

10 boulevard de la Croisette. It is the only one on this list to tick all three boxes. Connecting rooms first: the hotel states that its Deluxe City and Deluxe Partial Sea View rooms can connect to the room next door, and it offers two-bedroom suites. Then the pool: outdoor, advertised as heated to 27°C all year. And the club: the Kid's Club takes 4 to 12 year-olds from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4.45pm, by reservation, free for children staying at the hotel. Lunch at the club (€35 per child) and the Friday and Saturday evening session (€50) cost extra. All of this comes at a palace price: see the top tier of our guide. Official website.

N° 05
4-star · rooftop pool

Best Western Plus Cannes Riviera & Spa, the roof with a view

16 boulevard d'Alsace, on the north side of the centre. Sixty-six rooms and suites, and a rooftop pool that the hotel presents with a panoramic view of the sea and the old town. For teenagers, that is an argument. Two points to clear up before booking: the website says neither whether the pool is heated nor when it is open, and it does not mention family or connecting rooms. So ask for the exact set-up for four. The hotel says it is 'a few steps' from the beaches and the Croisette, without giving a distance. Official website.

What we avoid

What we avoid: booking a 'family room' on a comparison site without reading the floor plan. A connecting room can only be guaranteed by the hotel itself. The Majestic even gives a dedicated email address for checking the availability of connecting rooms: do the same everywhere, and keep the written reply.

What we also avoid: choosing a hotel for its private beach on the assumption that it is included. At the Majestic, the beach is reserved for guests of the hotel and the restaurant, but sunbed hire is extra. For four people, the bill climbs fast. The public sandy beaches are free and a few minutes' walk away: our guide to the free public beaches of Cannes places them one by one.

And we would not pay a supplement for a pool without asking for its dates. Several rooftop pools are seasonal, and the Eden's is charged extra. In April or late October, only an indoor pool or one heated all year keeps its promise.

When to come, and at what price

The best family weeks: late June, early July, late August and the autumn half-term. The sea is swimmable from June to the end of September, and the town is far more breathable outside the first fortnight of August. For the French autumn holidays, the Majestic advertises a Junior Club for 12 to 17 year-olds open every day (17 October to 1 November in 2026), which changes a stay with teenagers.

On budget, most of these hotels do not publish a fixed price list. Use the tiers in our hotels guide: €180-400 for a four-star near the Croisette, €400-800 and up for a palace off season, per double room. With two connecting rooms, count two rooms. And avoid mid-May and mid-June: during the Film Festival and Cannes Lions, rates are multiplied by three to six.

According to their official websites, Hôtel Splendid (4 rue Félix Faure) offers a family suite made up of communicating rooms, and Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic (10 boulevard de la Croisette) states that its Deluxe City and Deluxe Partial Sea View rooms can connect to the room next door.
