From €9 to more than €90 for the same sea
The price of a sunbed in Cannes runs from €9 to more than €90 a day, and up to €300 for a bed on a pontoon. It is not the quality of the mattress that makes the difference, it is the address: the beach run by the city, then Boulevard du Midi, then the Croisette, which gets more expensive the further east you go.
Our view: the best price in Cannes is also the least known. Zamenhof beach, managed by the city, rents a sunbed for €9 a day right on the Croisette, next to the Martinez. Just behind come the beaches of Boulevard du Midi, at €27 to €30 with the parasol included. Above €70, you are no longer paying for a sunbed, you are paying for a row and a street number.
Here is the price grid, beach by beach, from cheapest to most expensive. Checked in October 2026, rates for the 2026 season, from the City of Cannes website, the tourist office listings and the beaches' official websites. These are posted public prices, not prices we have paid: they change every season, so confirm them before you go. To decide which one to choose, read our comparison of private beaches in Cannes next.

N° 01
€9 a day
Zamenhof beach, the city-run beach on the Croisette
Opposite kiosk no. 6 on Boulevard de la Croisette, next to the Hôtel Martinez. The price list published by the city: a sunbed at €9 for the day or €6.50 for a half day, a parasol at €8 for the day or €4.50 for a half day. The full day runs from 8.30am to 6.30pm, the half day from 8.30am to 1.30pm or from 1.30pm to 6.30pm. The beach opens from 15 June to 15 September and has lifeguards. Children aged 0 to 9 do not pay. A towel is compulsory, you must rent one sunbed per person, and sandwiches and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed.
N° 02
€27 to €30
Boulevard du Midi: Maëma and Maracana, parasol included
West of the Old Port. Maëma Plage, at 26 Boulevard du Midi Jean-Hibert, lists for 2026 a sunbed at €30 in the front row and €27 in the second, parasol included, towel hire at €6 and a double bed from €74. Maracana Plage, on Boulevard du Midi Louise-Moreau between kiosks 19 and 20, gives €27 to €30, parasol included, from 9.30am to 6pm. These are the lowest private beach prices in our survey. On this side of town, you look at the Estérel, not at the palace hotels.
N° 03
€28
On Boulevard du Midi Louise-Moreau, on the La Bocca side. The tourist office lists sunbed hire at €28 under its 2026 rates, with the beach open from 9.30am to 6pm. The restaurant's public listing gives a meal budget of €30 to €70. The official website does not publish a price list by row: ask whether the parasol is included.
N° 04
€28 to €50
Three addresses let you stay on the Croisette without reaching €70. Vilebrequin La Plage, at no. 64, lists a sunbed from €30 for 2026. Croisette Beach, at no. 65, gives €35 to €50 with parasol and towel included, open from 10am to 6pm. Mademoiselle Gray, the Barrière beach of Le Gray d'Albion, has the widest range: €28 to €80 depending on season and position, towel at €8. In all three cases, the bottom of the range is not a front-row August price.
N° 05
€70 to €90
Copal Beach, at no. 63, is the only one to publish its prices row by row: €90 in the front row, €80 in the second, €70 from the third row back, from 1 July to 31 October 2026. The Carlton Beach Club, at no. 58, gives a sunbed from €70 between 1 June and 31 December 2026, with no detail by row. La Plage du Martinez, at no. 73, lists a price from €74 between 29 June and 31 August 2026, but sunbed bookings there are reserved for hotel guests, according to the tourist office.
N° 06
€41 to €300
The pontoon costs more than the sand, and the bed more than the sunbed. Mademoiselle Gray lists its pontoon spot at €41 to €90. Maëma rents a double bed from €74. At the Carlton Beach Club, a regional tourism source mentions a bed on the central pontoon at €300 for May to August 2026, a figure to confirm with the beach. Miramar Plage has 25 spots on a pontoon, with no detailed public price.
N° 07
Price not published
Hyde Beach, at 45 Boulevard de la Croisette, publishes no sunbed rate. Its website states that sunbeds cannot be booked, that they are allocated first come, first served, and that guests of the Mondrian hotel get a preferential rate. Miramar Plage, at no. 64, does not show a sunbed price on its website either; the tourist office listing gives 'adult' ranges of €150 to €650 depending on the period, without saying what they cover. In both cases, ask the price of the row at reception.
What we avoid
What we avoid: believing that the posted price is the price of the day. The sunbed never includes the meal. The parasol is included at Maëma, Maracana and Croisette Beach, charged separately at Zamenhof (€8), and not specified elsewhere. The towel is included at Croisette Beach, rented for €6 at Maëma and €8 at Mademoiselle Gray. Add it up before you compare.
What we also avoid: paying for a day to stay three hours. The half day exists at Zamenhof, with the changeover at 1.30pm. On the private beaches, it does not appear in any of the public price lists we checked: ask on the phone, the answer varies with how busy the beach is.
Finally, we don't count on a refund. The city puts it in writing for Zamenhof: in case of bad weather, no refund. Check the marine forecast before booking online, and ask the private beaches for their cancellation terms.
When to book, when to pay less
When to book. At Zamenhof, booking is done online through the City of Cannes ticket office, by the day or half day, throughout the opening period. At Mademoiselle Gray, the number of mattresses is limited and a place is not guaranteed without a booking. Copal Beach and Miramar Plage offer online booking, optional at Copal where you can turn up from 10am. Hyde Beach books nothing: first come, first served. In July and August, book several days ahead for a weekend, and arrive at opening time where there are no bookings.
When to pay less. The wide ranges (€28 to €80, €35 to €50) reflect the season: the bottom matches spring and autumn, the top matches summer. June and September give the same sea for less. Out of season, some of the beaches close: Zamenhof stops on 15 September. And the €0 sunbed exists all year round: our guide to the free public beaches of Cannes gives the addresses.

For the 2026 season: €9 a day at Zamenhof beach, run by the city; €27 to €30 on Boulevard du Midi and in La Bocca; €28 to €50 for the entry prices on the Croisette; €70 to €90 on the eastern Croisette. A bed on a pontoon can reach €300. Checked in October 2026, to be confirmed.
Where is the cheapest sunbed in Cannes?
At Zamenhof beach, on the Croisette, opposite kiosk no. 6: €9 for the day, €6.50 for a half day, with the parasol extra at €8 or €4.50. It is open from 15 June to 15 September and is booked online through the City of Cannes ticket office.
Is the parasol included in the sunbed price?
It depends on the beach. It is included at Maëma, Maracana and Croisette Beach. It is charged separately at Zamenhof beach. The other beaches in our survey do not specify it in their public rates: ask when you book.
Can you rent a sunbed for half a day in Cannes?
Yes at Zamenhof beach: €6.50 from 8.30am to 1.30pm or from 1.30pm to 6.30pm. On the private beaches, none of the public price lists checked in 2026 shows a half day. Some offer it depending on how busy they are: you need to call.
Do you need to book a sunbed in advance?
In July and August, yes, where it is possible: Zamenhof online, Mademoiselle Gray, Copal Beach, Miramar Plage. Hyde Beach takes no bookings and allocates its sunbeds in order of arrival. Out of season, turning up at opening time is generally enough.
